There is so much delicious fruit to be found on the lush tropical island of St Lucia. Mango, pomegranate, coconut, avacado, plantain and banana cover the land, with many plants and trees growing wild. We have started working with a farmer in the hills of Babonneau; an area in the extensive rain forests of the North of the island, and from here, we are building a range of pure, natural banana products such as flour and soft dried ripe bananas, for export in small quantities to the Caribbean Store here in the UK. The source of these goods can almost be narrowed down to a few acres of rich plantation land yielding some of the best tasting fruits in St Lucia. Great to know where your products come from these days. Added to our existing range of other banana goods from the island, (jam, ketchup and essence), we are happy to support these amazing farmers and producers, with products sailing to the UK by Geest; the historic shipping company who first brought bananas from the Windward Islands to the UK back in the 1950's.
