As the temperatures rise and the days get longer, it's time to start thinking about refreshing beverages to enjoy with friends and family. One drink that is sure to add a tropical twist to your gatherings is the Fruity Sorrel Sangria.

Ingredients

  • 170ml
    Dream Caribbean Sorrel Syrup
  • 118ml
    Red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot)
  • 118ml
    Dark Rum
  • 600ml
    Water
  • 500g
    Fresh Tropical fruit Chopped
  • Ganish
    Sprigs of Mint and a Lemon cut into slices

Method

  1. In a pitcher, mix Sorrel concentrate, water, rum, and red wine. Chill for at least an hour or overnight.
  2. Chop the tropical fruit into bite-sized chunks and mix them together. Add some fruit to each glass.
  3. Pour over the Sorrel mixture.
  4. Garnish with a sprig of mint and add a slice of lemon.

Notes

Tropical fruits we used (Pineapple, Kiwi, Mango, Papaya and Strawberry). But you can mix and match to your taste or you can use a tin of Tropical fruit cocktail.

Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot wine works best, but you can use any red wine
